Argentina Takes Home World Cup Championship

32 Teams. 64 matches. One elite World cup champion. The 2022 FIFA World Cup Series where the best of the best competes for the titular World Cup. Futbol – The sport where people from all over the world unite and display pride and joy for their respective countries. This is the Olympic sport that soccer players both young and old look forward to, even sacrificing hours of sleep to catch their favorite teams in action. These teams have traveled far and wide to make it to this phenomenal series. As the World Cup fever comes to a dramatic close, Argentina takes home the championship as the World Cup winners on December 18th against France. France originally being the defending champions of the last World Cup held in 2018, put up an amazing fight against the prideful blue and white team.


The festivities began Sunday, November 20th and is the first World Cup ever held in the Arab speaking world as well as the Muslim world being in Qatar. ln the first round of the tournament finals, the teams competed in eight groups of four teams for points, with the top two teams in each group proceeding.



The bloodbath between these teams took place during the finals on December 18th. With a heart-stopping performance and tenacity on the field, Argentina became World Cup champions for the third time. Lionel Messi helped lead the team to victory, scoring two goals against his opponents. This came as a huge surprise for many World Cup fanatics as France was originally leading in the series and Argentina was facing a devastating blow against Saudi Arabia. Dominating match after match, forward Kylian Mbappe made two goals of his own, but was penalized for those goals. A 4-2 penalty score between the two teams was the final outcome, with the ending score being 3-3.
