Title got your attention? I’m not talking about a literal touchdown. I’m talking about this contract that has the whole NFL and sports world in complete silence and hype. Kansas City Chief Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has extended his contract with the team for an additional 10 years worth $503 million. Again… the NFL world was in complete silence when this news dropped. This is the largest contract in the history of professional sports, and the deal gets even sweeter.
Not only does Mahomes have a record breaking contract that'll definitely have him set for life, but this record breaking contract exceeds the 12-year $430 million contract that Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angel received. However, Mahomes doesn't receive the full $503 million just yet.

The Texas Tech University Alum is absolutely guaranteed $63 million and $141 million in injury guarantees. However, he will never see anything below $40 million by the time he reaches his 10-year, averaging a paycheck of about $59.9 million by then. This is indeed the biggest news in NFL history and the fact that he will make so much on an annual basis as a young player is remarkable. The Kansas City Chiefs have "secured the bag" and have Super Bowl winners under their belt thanks to young Mahomes.
